Greetings and welcome to the 4th Muhammadiyah International Public Health and Medicine Conference. We are delighted to announce the next conference, which will focus on the examination of recent progress and innovations in the domain of geriatric health. The conference will be centered around the overarching theme:
“Aging and Public Policy: Shaping Inclusive Healthcare Systems for the Elderly”
According to projections, the proportion of the global population that is elderly, with a specific focus on Asia, is anticipated to reach a minimum of 30% by the year 2030 (https://www2.deloitte.com/nz/en/footerlinks/pressreleasespage/asia-home-to-60-percent-of-worlds-over-65s-by-2030.html). However, when examining the broader perspective, this figure may appear less persuasive due to its portrayal of significant economic challenges, indicating a pressing problem that necessitates attention and resolution. One of the primary focal areas examined in relation to the Asian economy pertains to the significant upsurge observed in the Asian economy subsequent to 2003. Notably, countries such as India, Singapore, Indonesia, China, and Taiwan have emerged as leaders in driving economic expansion (https://doi.org/10.3390/ijerph18041801). The notable expansion of society throughout time can be attributed to various factors, as highlighted by Lin and Wang (https://doi.org/10.3389/fpubh.2020.00291). These factors include the development in the number of individuals with middle-income status, the fall of the tech bubble, and the prolonged life expectancy.
